The goal with this piece was to create a portfolio quality scene using modularity. All of the models, textures, and materials are made by me. The meshes were created first in Maya, then sculpted in ZBrush, and retopologized down to a manageable number, without sacrificing silhouette. Textures were created using Substance Designer and Painter. Materials like the lava, smoke particle system, and flames were created in Unreal. The concept art I am using was created by Dmitry Barbashin. The concept art to me, has a very gothic/vampire feel, so what I ended up creating was this kind of Stylized Underworld Lair.
